Loss Control Services
SFMI's Loss Control Department is attuned to its policyholders' needs and provides
guidance to improve the way they manage their risks inherent in property and liability
exposures, marine cargo, commercial vehicles, and the workplace to ensure
maximum safety. SFMI's Loss Control Department can provide an in-depth risk
management assessment, a detailed analysis of losses (including root cause),
and an action plan to reduce loss potential through best practices.
SFMI offers customizable safety consulting and training services that cater to the needs of each of its policyholders:
· Safety Program Reviews: We review programs based on each relevant state¡¯s requirements and also for the benefit of our policyholders, to improve their safety programs.
· Marine Cargo Evaluations: We offer marine cargo evaluation services to assist our policyholders in developing loss prevention and control programs.
· Property Evaluations: We provide property surveys and recommendations for property risk improvement.
· Products Development Safety Evaluations: We complete quality control program reviews and provide suggestions for plan improvement.
· Driving Safety: We help reduce risks associated with driving commercial motor vehicles by assisting customers with the selection, education, management and training of their drivers.
· Certified Industrial Hygiene Consultations: Through risk assessment and monitoring of risk exposure, our Certified Industrial Hygienists help policyholders anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control occupational exposures in the work environment.
· Ergonomic Surveys: We complete detailed ergonomic surveys and recommendations to address some of the costliest losses.
Risk Control Resources
We provide each of our policyholders with access to CLMI Safety Training
(formerly known as Comprehensive Loss Management, Inc.), which provides high
quality courses and materials that enable employers to improve health and
well-being, comply with OSHA standards, and reduce workers' compensation costs
through the reduction of employee injury and illness. These courses and materials
are provided through online streaming safety videos; written safety program
samples; administrative guides; employee handbooks; customizable safety
PowerPoint presentations; as well as other tools and resources.
